Global gAme Jam 2019
For the Global Game Jam 2019, some friends and I decided to come together to do our first serious game jam.
We ended up with a 2D Platformer with the goal of having wacky controls and to get the main character, me, home. Getting past the strange obstacles on the way.
I was the programmer in a team of 7. The main challenge I faced was working on getting a functional wacky character controller as I had never worked with ragdoll physics before. It was a great challenge! I worked with the designers and artists, creating the obstacles in the game and get a parallax scrolling background.
Each section as a unique main building that is recognised as a parody of local buildings in Falmouth. Filling in the gaps with a random section of buildings or environments.
